How PDF splitting works

Type which pages you want (like 1-3,5,8-9) and the tool builds a new PDF containing exactly those pages, in that order — or choose "split every page" to get every page of the source document as its own standalone file, delivered together in a zip.

Extract exact pages

Pull out only the pages you need using a simple range syntax.

One page per file

Split an entire document into individual single-page PDFs in one click.

No split limit

Split as many documents as you need — no daily cap, no account required.

Not stored afterward

Your file is processed to build the result and isn't kept once your download completes.

Common reasons to split a PDF

  • Sharing just one chapter or section — send only the relevant pages instead of an entire report.
  • Removing a cover page or blank pages — extract only the pages that matter before forwarding a document.
  • Separating a scanned batch — turn one long scanned PDF back into individual documents.
  • Staying under an upload page limit — some forms only accept a set number of pages per file.

Free forever

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a page range?+

Use commas to separate individual pages or ranges, e.g. "1-3,5,8-9" extracts pages 1 through 3, page 5, and pages 8 through 9 as one combined file.

What's the difference between a page range and splitting every page?+

A range pulls out the specific pages you list into one document. "Split every page" instead breaks the entire PDF into individual single-page files, useful when you need each page as its own document.

Why did I get a zip file instead of a PDF?+

If your request produces more than one output file (multiple ranges, or splitting every page), the results are bundled into a single zip download so you get everything in one click.

Does splitting reduce quality or remove formatting?+

No — each extracted page keeps its original content, formatting, and resolution exactly as it appeared in the source PDF.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?+

Encrypted PDFs generally can't be read for splitting. Remove the password in the file's original application first.
